The European night train is in a genuine renaissance: **ÖBB Nightjet** runs more than twenty routes, **European Sleeper** opened private lines between Brussels, Berlin, Prague and Venice, and **Snälltåget** links Scandinavia to the Alps — adding up to more than forty active services in 2026.
There are three classes on board: **seat** (cheapest, no bed), **couchette** (shared bunks in 4- or 6-berth compartments) and **sleeper** (private cabin with a real bed, washbasin and, at the top, its own bathroom).
The new Nightjet generation introduced **single mini-cabins** (pods), offering real privacy at the price of an upper couchette — the biggest product innovation in the sector since the 1990s.
Real price per leg in 2026: seat from **€29**, couchette between **€59 and €119**, private sleeper between **€139 and €299** per person, with dynamic fares that rise near the date.
