Palermo, Buenos Aires

Hotels in
Palermo.

Buenos Aires' coolest neighborhood — parks, parrillas, design boutiques and the city's best nightlife.

Why stay in Palermo.

The neighborhood in three honest paragraphs — no tourism brochure.

Palermo is Buenos Aires' largest and most electric neighborhood, split into distinct sub-villages. Palermo Soho clusters Argentine designer boutiques, specialty coffee shops and cocktail bars around Plaza Serrano. Palermo Hollywood — once a TV production hub — now runs on restaurants and late nights.

Around them, the Bosques de Palermo offer the city's main green escape: the Japanese Garden, the rose garden, and the MALBA Latin American art museum (think Frida Kahlo, Botero). It's the neighborhood where porteño identity meets global cosmopolitanism — espresso in the morning, a century-old parrilla at lunch, natural wine bar at midnight.

Staying in Palermo means choosing the young, creative, well-fed Buenos Aires. Tree-lined streets, world-class Argentine beef at prices that feel almost unfair, and the city's best nightlife steps away. The trade-off: you're a subway ride from the historic center, San Telmo and La Boca.

How to get here.

Airport, metro, taxi and walkability — with real costs, not brochure prices.

From the airport

From Ezeiza (EZE, international), Palermo is 35 km away: taxi, remís or Cabify runs 30–45 min at a fixed rate. From Aeroparque (AEP, domestic), it's 8 km — about 15–20 min by taxi or Cabify. No direct train exists; use a ride-hailing app or licensed taxi.

Metro and train

Subte Line D serves Palermo (Plaza Italia, Scalabrini Ortiz, Bulnes stations), connecting to downtown in 15–20 min. For Palermo Soho or Hollywood, combine Subte with a short walk or Cabify. The San Martín rail line also stops at Palermo.

Taxi and Uber

Use Cabify or official taxis (black and yellow) — Uber operates but faces local legal friction. Fares are cheap in dollar terms. Pay in cash to take advantage of the exchange rate.

On foot

Excellent within Palermo Soho and Hollywood — entirely walkable and shaded. The Bosques are 10–15 min on foot. The historic center is best reached by Subte or Cabify (15–25 min).
