The absurd Réveillon lodging rule
All inns and hotels in the 6 cities run the same three rules during the countdown. Know before planning:
- 4-5 night minimum. Can't go just Dec 31 + Jan 1. Anyone accepting just 2 nights is a rare exception, usually a last-minute cancellation.
- 50% deposit. Mandatory partial payment at booking, non-refundable or partially refundable depending on the inn.
- No cancellation after date X. Usually 60-90 days before the countdown, any cancellation forfeits 100% of paid amount.
Some premium inns run even harsher rules — 6-night minimum, 100% prepaid in October, no cancellation under any circumstance.
When to book: the honest timeline
