Michael Jackson ONE opened on May 29, 2013 at the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre inside Mandalay Bay Resort (3950 Las Vegas Blvd S), seats 1,800, tickets range from USD 79 to USD 250, and has crossed 4,000 performances by 2026. This 3-day itinerary anchors at Mandalay Bay, locks in pre-show dinner at Aureole or RM Seafood, slots in the Wynn (where Michael lived in Vegas), and closes with a Hoover Dam day trip or a Cirque marathon featuring Beatles LOVE at the Mirage, KÀ at MGM, and "O" at Bellagio.

Vegas holds two Michael Jacksons. The stage one, with pyro and 26 acrobats at the Mandalay Bay Theatre. And the backstage one, who lived at the Wynn between 2007 and 2009 and recorded material at Westside Studios. This itinerary delivers both without turning into a sad pilgrimage.
Three days is the sweet spot. Less than that, you rush. More, it becomes buffet filler. This article breaks down real 2026 costs in USD, where to buy tickets without paying Ticketmaster markup, and how to fit a Cirque marathon (Beatles LOVE, KÀ, "O") if you want to binge the whole franchise on Day 3.
The thesis: Mandalay Bay is the right base. Show on Day 1 right after arrival, Day 2 covering Las Vegas Boulevard on foot and Uber, Day 3 off-Strip or in full Cirque overdose. No mandatory car rental, no buffet hangover.
Where the theatre sits and why Mandalay Bay is the mandatory base
TL;DRThe Michael Jackson ONE Theatre is inside Mandalay Bay Resort (3950 Las Vegas Blvd S), purpose-built for the show in 2013, 1,800 seats with Meyer Sound directional audio in every chair. Staying at Mandalay Bay itself (USD 180-260/night low) cuts Uber, gives casino access, and frees up 90min pre-show at the hotel bar.
The theatre sits on the ground floor of the hotel, next to the casino, with its own entrance. You step out of the room elevator, cross the casino, and you're at the foyer in 7 minutes on foot. Cars and Uber drop off at the south door. On show nights, Strip traffic turns into panic after 6pm.
The theatre's acoustics were rebuilt for the show. 7,000 embedded speakers, including a seat system (called KI Holographic) that makes sound come from different stage points in real time. So seating matters: best rows are C to J (center), worst are the front two rows (you lose the aerial effects).
Mandalay Bay rooms vary: main tower (Resort Rooms, USD 180-220) is simple but functional, Delano (USD 280-350) is all-suite and quieter, Four Seasons within Mandalay Bay (USD 450+) is the discreet luxury on floors 35-39. The pool deck with an artificial beach is decent. Only Strip hotel with that.
| Category | Hotel | USD/night low | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ideal base | Mandalay Bay Resort | 180-260 | Theatre on ground floor |
| Premium | Four Seasons (inside MBay tower) | 450-650 | Separate check-in, no casino |
| MJ historical luxury | Wynn | 350-550 | Where MJ lived 2007-09 |
| Value | Park MGM | 150-220 | 12min walk via Strip |
| Boutique | Cosmopolitan | 280-380 | Bellagio fountains view |
How to buy tickets at the real price (USD 79-110 range)
TL;DROfficial Cirque tickets run from USD 79 (Category 4 back) to USD 250 (VIP Category 1 center), fees included. Off-peak Tuesday/Friday + Vegas.com hotel+show bundle drops 15-25%. UrComped distributes resale seats at USD 79-99 for Diamond/Seven Stars status. Ticketmaster verified resale only pays off last minute if it drops under USD 90.
The three-prong buying play that works in 2026:
1. Official Cirque (cirquedusoleil.com). Full price but no risk. Categories 1-4. Booking 6+ months ahead nets advance pricing USD 79-89 in Categories 3-4 for Tuesday and Friday 7pm shows.
2. Vegas.com bundle. Mandalay Bay 2 nights + Category 2 or 3 show comes in 12-18% below the individual sum. Big win if you were staying at Mandalay Bay anyway. There's a "Save up to 35%" flag but the real discount sits at 15-20% on most dates.
3. UrComped. Casino status match platform. If you have MGM Gold or Caesars Diamond (matchable with Total Rewards from Atlantic City or regional casinos), it unlocks Category 2 resale tickets between USD 79-99. Works best in January, February, and September.
4. Ticketmaster verified resale. Check 48h before the show. When it drops below USD 90 in Category 2, take it. Above that, pay official.
Skip TodayTix and Goldstar for MJ ONE: thin inventory, prices equal to or higher than official. SeatGeek has abusive fees on Cirque.
2026 shows run Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Traditionally Wednesday and Thursday are dark (troupe rest day). Always check ahead. Calendar shifts during holiday periods.
Day 1: arrival, Aureole dinner, and MJ ONE at 7pm
TL;DRFlight into LAS arrives morning or early afternoon. Mandalay Bay check-in by 3pm, rest, 5pm dinner at Aureole (4-story wine tower), 7pm show. Official MJ ONE merch store is in the theatre foyer, opens 1h before. Thriller jacket runs USD 95, vinyl USD 25-40.
Major carriers fly nonstop to LAS from every US hub: Delta, United, American, Southwest, Spirit, Frontier. From East Coast (JFK/EWR/BOS/DCA) 5-6h, USD 220-480 round-trip economy low season. From West Coast (LAX/SFO/SEA) 1-2h, USD 90-220. From Europe, 1 stop via JFK/ORD, USD 700-1,200. LAS Harry Reid International is 7min by taxi from Mandalay Bay (USD 18-25 Uber). Skip the shared shuttle. You lose 1h easily stopping at other hotels.
Official check-in 3pm, but you can drop bags at the bell desk from 11am. Resort fee USD 50/night mandatory (free hotel parking still exists at MBay in 2026, unlike Caesars and MGM that charge USD 18-25/day).
Aureole (ground floor of Mandalay Bay): chef Charlie Palmer, contemporary American, known for the Wine Tower: 12,000 bottles in a 4-story glass tower with a sommelier-acrobat suspended in harness fetching bottles. 5-course tasting menu USD 145, à la carte mains USD 48-72. Book 4-6 weeks ahead for a table with Wine Tower view.
Lighter pre-show alternative: RM Seafood (Rick Moonen, same building) USD 60-85 main, solid oysters, 2min from the theatre. Border Grill (Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, Cal-Mex) USD 35-50 main, ideal if you travel with kids.
7pm show. Arrive 6:15pm. The casino entrance is confusing. Follow "Theatre" signs, not "Convention". The foyer has a bar (drinks USD 16-22, photo with Thriller mannequin, restrooms). Official store opens 6pm. Tour tee USD 35-45, cap USD 30, album vinyl USD 25, Thriller jacket replica USD 95.
Show runs 90min with no intermission. Exit flows fast. By 9pm you're free. Strip vibe is high, but the smart move is sleeping early if you're tackling all of Day 2.
Day 2: Wynn, Westside Studios, and Heritage Auctions
TL;DRDay 2 is MJ Vegas archaeology. Morning: brunch at the Wynn (3131 Las Vegas Blvd S) where Michael lived 2007-2009. Afternoon: Westside Studios (3300 W Sahara Ave, exterior only, no interior tour but worth the photo). End: Heritage Auctions LV office (3500 Maryland Pkwy) to see memorabilia auctions. Uber all day USD 65-85.
The Wynn became MJ's base in February 2007, his first relaunch attempt in Vegas after the trial. He stayed in the Tower Suites north side, renting residence by the month. Steve Wynn gave him a suite with piano and a temporary basketball court for the kids. There's no plaque or tour. Book a table at SW Steakhouse (USD 60-95 main, Lake of Dreams view) or brunch at The Lakeside (USD 75 brunch buffet) and soak in the place. Old-timer bartenders sometimes tell stories, but Wynn formally prohibits staff from commenting on guests.
Westside Studios (3300 W Sahara Ave, west of the Strip) is where Michael recorded part of the material that became Michael (posthumous 2010) and demos for what would be This Is It. No public tour. You can swing by Uber (12min from Wynn) and shoot the facade. It's a beige building with no obvious signage, but the main entrance shows up on Google Maps as "Westside Recording". Go once, mark the spot, move on.
Heritage Auctions Las Vegas Office (3500 Maryland Pkwy, Suite 200) opens Mon-Fri 10am-5pm. Periodic MJ memorabilia auctions. Gloves, Thriller jackets, contracts. Even outside of auction times you can visit the (free) exhibit with pre-booking by email at vegas@ha.com. In 2025 they sold a Smooth Criminal fedora glove for USD 105,000. You don't buy. You look.
Day 2 dinner: leave the Strip and hit Lotus of Siam (953 E Sahara Ave). Thai considered one of the best in the US by Saveur, USD 28-42 main, line up without reservation. Or Carbone at ARIA (USD 75-110 main, old-school Italian-American, Sinatra vibe MJ loved).

Day 3 option A: Hoover Dam and Lake Mead day trip
TL;DRHoover Dam is 45min by car southeast of Vegas (US-93 South). Interior tour USD 30 adult, exterior free. Pair with Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (panoramic view) and a Boulder City lunch stop. Rental car USD 55-75/day, or Gray Line tour USD 75 per person with hotel pickup.
Hoover Dam opens 9am-5pm, Dam Tour ticket USD 30 (includes Powerplant Tour + historic access), Powerplant Tour USD 15. Go early: 9-10am has short lines, 11am-2pm turns chaotic. Built 1931-1936, 221m tall, still generates 4 billion kWh/year.
Memorial bridge (Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, 2010) crosses the Colorado River 270m above the riverbed. Park at Boulder Dam Lookout. 5min walk to the bridge pedestrian deck with frontal view of the dam. Best photo of the trip.
Boulder City (12min before the dam) is the original 1931 workers' base town, the only Nevada municipality where gambling is banned by law. Lunch at The Coffee Cup (512 Nevada Way). Classic diner, hash brown USD 12, milkshake USD 7. Travel Channel filmed Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives there.
On the way back, optional detour to Lake Mead (Nevada side, Hemenway Harbor stop) to see the artificial lake at its lowest in 90 years. The visible bathtub ring shows the Colorado's water collapse. Historic and environmentally relevant photo.
Back in Vegas by 4-5pm gives time for Strip dinner and a night flight if your return is that day. If you stay through Day 4, dinner at Bazaar Meat (SLS, José Andrés, USD 95-180 main) or Esther's Kitchen (1130 S Casino Center Blvd, Arts District, Italian-Mediterranean USD 32-48 main, best value in Vegas in 2026).
Day 3 option B: Cirque marathon — Beatles LOVE, KÀ, "O"
TL;DRVegas is the world capital of Cirque du Soleil with 5 resident shows in 2026. Realistic marathon is 3 in a day: Beatles LOVE matinee at Mirage (USD 99-250), KÀ afternoon at MGM Grand (USD 89-220), "O" night at Bellagio (USD 119-330). Ticket total USD 307-800 per person. Eat between shows at Bouchon (Venetian) or Picasso (Bellagio).
| Show | Hotel | Typical time | USD ticket | Why see it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MJ ONE | Mandalay Bay | 7pm | 79-250 | MJ music, aerial acrobatics |
| Beatles LOVE | Mirage | 3pm, 7pm, 9pm | 99-250 | George Martin score, psychedelic |
| KÀ | MGM Grand | 7pm, 9:30pm | 89-220 | Vertical rotating stage, narrative |
| O | Bellagio | 7pm, 9:30pm | 119-330 | Aquatic, 1.5 million gallons |
| Mystère | TI | 7pm, 9:30pm | 79-180 | Original Cirque, classic circus |
Beatles LOVE opened in 2006, score re-mixed by George and Giles Martin straight from Apple Records master tapes. The only Cirque show with sound authorized directly from Abbey Road. The Mirage closed in 2024 and reopened under Hard Rock in 2026 with LOVE preserved by contract.
KÀ opened in 2004 at MGM Grand, vertical sand cliff stage that rotates 360°. The most expensive stage ever built for a resident theatre (original cost USD 165 million). In 2017 a performer died in a fall during the show. Production stopped for months, returned with redesigned safety.
"O" opened in 1998 at Bellagio, 1.5-million-gallon pool, hydraulic lifts that raise the stage in seconds. It's the most expensive Cirque to produce and the hardest to get last-minute weekend tickets for.
For realistic physical chaining, Mirage → MGM → Bellagio covers 1.6km on the Strip's central axis. Use the Las Vegas Monorail (day pass USD 15) between MGM and Flamingo/Bellagio. Walking hotel to hotel works, but Vegas Strip distance is deceptive. Mandalay Bay to Wynn is 35 real minutes on foot, not the 20 the map suggests.
Real 2026 costs: spreadsheet per person (USD)
TL;DR3-day trip for 2 people at Mandalay Bay with MJ ONE Category 2 show and Aureole dinner runs USD 1,450-1,900 per person excluding flight. Luxury version with Wynn + Day 3 Cirque marathon hits USD 2,800-3,600. Budget version with Park MGM and Category 4 show closes at USD 950-1,200.
| Item | Budget | Standard | Luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flight to LAS (East Coast US, low season) | 220 | 350 | 480 |
| Hotel 3 nights (1 double room, total) | 450 | 750 | 1,650 |
| Resort fees + tax (3 nights) | 180 | 195 | 240 |
| MJ ONE ticket (Cat 4 / 2 / VIP) | 89 | 165 | 250 |
| Aureole/RM Seafood dinner | 65 | 145 | 240 |
| Day 2 Uber + Wynn brunch | 95 | 145 | 220 |
| Day 3 Hoover Dam tour (with transport) | 80 | 130 | 250 |
| Day 3 Cirque marathon (3 shows Cat 2) | n/a | 410 | 700 |
| Remaining meals (3 days) | 180 | 280 | 480 |
| Total per person | 950-1,200 | 1,450-1,900 | 2,800-3,600 |
Mandalay Bay resort fee is USD 50/night + 13.38% tax = USD 56.69/night/room, charged at check-out regardless of the daily rate. Parking still free for guests in 2026, a rare exception on the Strip.
Casino: assume USD 0 in the budget. If you'll gamble, set a hard limit. Free drinks at the casino while playing slots are worth USD 0.05-0.25/spin (USD 1-2 tip per drink mandatory).
Combining Vegas with Grand Canyon, LA, or Sedona
TL;DRVegas is the logical base for three extensions: Grand Canyon (1h30 regional flight USD 250 round-trip or 4h30 by car on US-93), LA road trip (4h on I-15, car USD 55/day), Sedona (5h drive Arizona, best late October). Each extension needs a 2-3 day minimum to be worth it.
Grand Canyon South Rim: Boutique Air or Contour Airlines flight into GCN airport, 1h30. Driving US-93 and I-40 is 4h30 but lets you stop at Williams (Route 66) and Bearizona. In-park hotel (El Tovar USD 280-450) books 12+ months ahead. Best season April-May and September-October.
LA road trip: I-15 south, 4h no traffic (8h with Friday traffic). Stop in Barstow for the Route 66 Mother Road Museum. In LA, base in Santa Monica or West Hollywood. The real MJ LA tour is Neverland Ranch (closed, now Sycamore Valley Ranch, 4h north of LA in Los Olivos. Visits only with an authorized guide, USD 200) and the house where he lived in Holmby Hills (100 N Carolwood Drive, demolished in 2012, now just a plaque).
Sedona: 5h drive east via I-40, Arizona red rocks, vortexes spiritual tourism, slot canyons. Pair with Antelope Canyon (3h more to Page, AZ) and Horseshoe Bend. October-November ideal temperature.
Don't try to stretch everything into a 3-day trip. Vegas + 1 extension needs a 6-day minimum total. For Cirque marathon + MJ show + Hoover Dam, 4-5 days does it.
Air connection note: domestic flights to LAS see promo dips in October-November and January-February when booked 90+ days out. From East Coast, nonstop fares dip to USD 180-260 in those windows. From West Coast, Spirit and Frontier hit USD 60-90 nonstop on shoulder dates. For premium cabins, JetBlue Mint (JFK-LAS) runs USD 600-900 round-trip. International travelers from Europe should price LHR/CDG via Delta/United hubs (JFK or ORD), with award redemptions starting at 60k Aeroplan points one-way.
A 4-day hybrid itinerary works well: Day 1 arrival + MJ ONE show, Day 2 Wynn + Heritage Auctions, Day 3 Hoover Dam (rental car USD 65 picked up at airport), Day 4 Cirque marathon with 2 shows (Beatles LOVE matinee + "O" night) + dawn flight Day 5. This format fits in a standard US long-weekend without burning extra PTO.
